Parti Coloured Pomeranians
Parti-colour/parti-color: showing different colors or tints; especially : having a
predominant color broken
by patches of one or more other colors <a parti–color cocker spaniel>
I like to refer to these beautiful coloured poms as the 'Painted Pom' the 'Patchwork pom' the artistic and colourful candidate of the Pomeranian breed! Its not surprising that people often mistaken these strikingly colourful poms as being a mixed breed or designer breed as sadly they are still very rare in Australian and many other countries of the world due to the lack of popularity amongst breeders and and exhibitors as their unique colouring and markings is not as desired in the show ring to that of their solid coloured counterparts!
Parti colours are most certainly purebred and very much part of the breed, having clear mention in the breed standards as an acceptable colour for registration for show and breeding and in fact there are many historical references of the colour as well as poms displaying white markings dating as far back to the origins of the breed.
A Parti colour Pomeranian, is described as being a white dog with patches of colour. Genetically speaking this is not correct as the dog is a coloured dog either, solid orange, sable, black or any colour or pattern described and accepted in the breed standard with the parti gene acting upon the original coat colour resulting in solid coloured patches broken up with white. Parti coloured poms can appear as both bi-coloured;
(two colours) such as black with white, orange and white, or as Tri-colours; (three colours) such as black and tan with white, choc and tan with white, brindle (orange with dark stripes) and white etc.
Here at Partipaws we absolutely love the parti colours and have dedicated our time in improving type in the parti's as well as showing and promoting the colour. We also breed and exhibit other rare colours like black and tans and also have a separate breeding program for solid colours such as oranges, creams, sables and blacks.
Being trained in Art and design and a full time practicing artist I have always been one to go against common trends. When I decided I wanted to get into showing and breeding Pomeranians, I soon discovered the variety of different colours the breed comes in. I fell in love with the Parti pom, its colouring its markings, its individuality its uniqueness and rarity
inspired me to be one of few who work very hard in breeding, showing and promoting such a colour.
My artistic background is also where I gain inspiration for naming my Partipaws babies, based on themes, such as Art Design, Colour, pattern, and party/parti themes. Each parti pom is in my eyes its very own masterpiece, displaying its own uniqueness in markings and colouring - We also like to express the notion of rebellion and individuality as we fight against common trends and traditions in getting this beautiful coloured pom recognised in our showrings here in
Australian and Worldwide.
Our current naming themes are; Tattoo, Graffiti and party/parti, our first homebred baby was fondly named Partipaws Tattoo Teddy a stunning boy who certainly made a name for himself and our kennel. We hope to keep these name themes unique to our homebred partipaws babies! We plan to continue naming our future puppies for centuries to come using the above themes so that over time our kennel and bloodlines will be easy to identify and trace back to for generations and generations.

"Bundy" (Tykesha Painted Parti)
Bundy is a beautiful Irish marked Black and white parti colour Pom. He is a fusion of Dochlaggie and Solinca parti breeding carrying an array of colour and is quite correct in type and soundness for an Ozzie bred Parti. Although slightly too big for the show ring, weighing in at 3.5 kilo, he has on the other hand, proven himself in our breeding program. He has produced some lovely puppies, both in type, soundness, correct size and of course colour. See below for some examples of his puppies - he has produced the gorgeous little "Gucci" who is just on 2 kilo and also "Ming" and "Moo" who were very promising tiny sized babies. He is also the Grandsire of our first bred show super star, "Teddy" - Partipaws Tattoo Teddy and of the 2 generations we have worked forward, I can definitely see Bundy's influence pull through in his kids and grand kids.
Bundy was our first ever Pomeranian fur-kid! He likes to think he is human; he is very very smart, very loyal and devoted to us and has the sweetest temperament! We just LOVE our Bundy, he is a perfect, loving pet and an asset to our breeding program.

Teddy (Partipaws Tattoo Teddy)
Teddy was 1 of 3 pups from our partipaws debut litter out of our gorgeous parti girl Gucci and the lovely black and tan boy Zorro (Luarts Mask of Zorro) Co-owned with Shawn and Clay and Lucy Hanza.
Teddy was a dream come true; a beautiful orange and white piebald parti boy, well marked, lovely big
double coat, short compact body, nice and heavy in bone with a lovely face which resembles a teddy bear -hence his name. Teddy was a very promising boy from birth to 8 months of age when sadly we lost him suddenly through an unfortunate accident.
Teddy touched the hearts of many throughout Australia and all over the world. He paved the way for parti colours of the future by being awarded with various wins in specialty shows and Royals. He obtained a group win and was only ever unplaced twice in his entire showing career, which is a huge achievement for a parti when you are competing against solid colours as these are the preferred in the ring! In short Teddy made a huge name for himself and was a fantastic ambassador for the parti coloured pomeranians in Australia.
I am so proud of him and miss him greatly! He will always hold a very special place in our hearts here at
partipaws Kennels! We hope that he will live on through his mother Gucci and we hope to repeat the litter mid
year 2011 in hope to produce some brothers and sisters of Teddy to keep Teddy's legacy alive

"Thunder" (Imp UK Pommania's Parti Down Under)
We are extremely excited with this little lad! Bred by Zoe Slocombe of Pommania Kennels in the UK, out of her beautiful black and white parti import boy Teddy and the lovely imported tri-colour parti girl Trixie. this little guy is sure going to bring us lots of new and exciting lines and colour to work in with our current parti breeding program and we just can not thank Zoe enough for entrusting us with this beautiful little guy and going to so much trouble to send him to Australia!
Thunder is a rare black and tan parti colour, also described as Tri-colour parti! He is well marked, with nice correct tan markings, he has a lovely expressive face with short broad muzzle, neat little ears, He is structurally sound with great movement.
He has a wonderful pedigree carrying many of the "greats" in parti history including American Champion Char's Meant to be a parti (Kismet), American Ch Finch's Rockin Parti (Rocky) and his breeding has a "double dose" of American and Canadian Ch Finch'c Char's Spellbound Parti, Merlin who is the fastest and youngest parti's to gain his title in the world.
Thunder will be limitedly available to public stud to approved bitches at the beginning of 2013 pending show and breeding commitments here at Partipaws Kennels. "Monty" (Tykesha Domino's effect)
Monty lives as a much loved and spoilt pet at our Parents Place in Sydney. Monty is a full brother to "Gucci" and for this reason he has stayed entire as Gucci has proven herself to be a proven producer of parti coloured pups but due to her size she may only be able to breed just one more time before retiring completely from breeding. Although Monty is not as typey as his sister, he still is very nice and sound and has the bloodlines that could go on to produce just as his sister has done. We aim to apply Monty to our breeding program in the near future.

"Gucci" (Tykesha Parti Paw Fection)
Gucci is a lovely two-toned orange and white Irish marked parti girl. She is our pride and joy, even though she was our 2nd fur-kid to enter our life she was our first girl and she has become a very important part of our life and our Kennel.
Although shown limitedly, she has done quite well when out in the ring, having been awarded 1st place puppy bitch at Sydney Royal Easter show 2009, she has also been awarded junior of breed and reserve challenges. She has great presence, great show attitude with a willingness to please and from this she has proven herself to be a fantastic foundation bitch in our parti breeding program with throwing great tempered babies with many of her qualities and attributes.
Her first litter produced a perfect litter of 3 parti boys and all 3 were absolutely stunning! One of these boys we decided to retain for showing, his name was Teddy aka Partipaws Tattoo Teddy who excelled in the show ring beyond all expectation.
Gucci is close to perfect for a parti, she is correct both in type, colouring and size, weighing just on 2.1 kilo. She is short in back, beautiful expressive face, lovely correct coat, beautiful markings, sound mover and a beautiful happy go lucky temperament.
Gucci will be mated in January 2012, for a repeat mating with Zorro, in the hope that we get just as good results as last time.

"Teena" (Luarts Woman in Black)
Teena is a black 'split parti' meaning she is solid black with white markings on her chest and on the tip of her feet. She is the result of a parti to solid mating so although not correct in markings to be a parti or solid she is in fact very valuable in a breeding program to be applied back to a full parti in the attempt to produce well marked parti's with the fusion of quality. Teena sire is a black and white parti and her dam is beaver, the same dam as Luarts Mask of Zorro, so Teena is therefore a half sister to Zorro.
Teena has a strong pedigree for colour and quality, going back to a number of imported bloodlines from both Canada, UK and USA, but what makes Teena really special to our breeding program is she crosses back on Luarts rose and spice and Luarts Domino on both sides of her pedigree, a line which has proven itself strong in colour and quality - we are very very lucky and very exciting to have her here at Partipaws, we hope she will contribute greatly to our program and in turn to the future of parti coloured poms here in OZ!

"Panda" (Makinart Panda Bear)
Panda is a black and white Piebald Parti, she is perfectly marked, with even amount of white and black markings.
Panda was acquired from Shawn and Clay of Makinart kennels as she is not only a well marked parti girl which is something you can wait years to find, acquire or breed, but she is also a daughter to Luarts Mask of Zorro who we are focusing our breeding around these key parti bloodlines. behind his Dam's side. Her type is coming along nicely now as she matures. She is very correct in body, nice short back, high tail set, her tail sits straight along her back, she has good strong legs, she was scored 0/0 patella, nice bone and plenty of leg coat which is what we like to see in our poms - she has sound and fluid movement, good drive in the back end and good reach in the front end, which she executes with such grace. She weighs around 2.2 kilo at present at the age of 7 months, so we are hoping she has done most of her growing, but we expect her to reach around 2.5 or more at maturity. She is looking to be a nice size for breeding and may end up correct in size for the show ring if she stays at current size.
Panda gives us a lot of options in our breeding program, she allows us to branch out to the solid colours to focus on quality improvement and also allows us to bring in various new lines to add into our future breedings.
We have some exciting plans for Panda both in the show ring and with our breeding program and look forward to applying her once she is mature old enough.

"Tipsy" (Aus Ch. Luarts Loco Motion)
Tipsy is a black and tan pom, but like Teena she does display some white tips on her back feet which comes from the parti gene way back in her 3rd generation on her sire's side. Like Panda, Tipsy is a daughter to Luarts Mask of Zorro going back to those key bloodlines that we aim to focus on during the foundations of our breeding program.
Tipsy has exceeded herself in both the show ring and our breeding program; I stand correct on this claim but we believe she is the 4th ever black and tan Pomeranian to have gained her Australian Championship title with various Best of breeds, runner up best of breeds and plenty of bitch challenges, she has also produced stunning puppies when applied in our solid colour program, producing the gorgeous Partipaws lil Asian Princess and the adorable Partipaws lil China Doll, these two girls were exceptional and were awarded highly in the show ring, but unfortunately we were forced to pet home them due to their sires (NZ CH Renior call me Braveheart) genetic condition. For her second litter we aim to apply her to our import parti boy Thunder, this will be his first ever litter and we hope to produce some equally quality babies but hope to get the colours as well.

"Tootsie" (Partipaws Twinkle Toes)
Tootsie is a daughter to Teena, Luarts Woman in black and Denis, Rothlynne debarcle. Tootsie has a lot of USA bloodlines and also goes back to parti lines on her mothers side. She has matured into a lovely rich red/orange girl with some small white markings on her feet and chest. She is well structures, beautiful type, wonderful movement and a soft kind nature.
